Sbs2 :
If you cannot accept your mother as a human being - imperfect, emotional, aging, and deserving of basic dignity - then you need to stop pretending this is about healing. Too often, estrangement becomes less about boundaries and more about punishment, control, humiliation, and emotional cruelty.
A mother is not a disposable object. She is not someone you erase because she disappointed you, made mistakes, or failed to be perfect. Many mothers spent decades loving, sacrificing, worrying, giving, and showing up the best way they knew how, When someone constantly tears down, humiliates, labels, and devalues another person without empathy or accountability, that is not strength. That is bullying.
Real healing requires maturity, honesty, compassion, and respect - not cruelty disguised as empowerment.
You do not have to agree with everything your mother has done. But basic human decency should never 1 disappear.
