You're doing so well! You're progressing exponentially believe it or not! It took me 2 weeks to get to the point where you are (Week 8) with 1 crutch. And it took me a full week to be comfortable with one crutch. Honestly just keep practicing a little every day!

100% get a shoe that levels out your height for your boot, I started weight bearing 6 weeks after 3 days later I was fully walking with my boot and no crutches and then a week later I was fully in both shoes walking and only use my boot my long distance walking

Each day will get better and you’ll be shocked how much you’ll progress after the mental block! And definitely wear a shoe that will even your stride 🙌🏾

Get an evenup for your other foot! Game changer for stability. And if you’re curious what percent weight bearing you’re at, use a scale to weigh yourself, vs the amount you can’t put on it. I’m 6 weeks post op and went from a non-weight bearing to walking without crutches around the house in 6 days!! You got this!!!!!

I got out of my cast nearly two weeks ago and can now walk through the house with sneakers on or no shoes using the boot for long distance. I also think put shoes on that balance the height out. It’s def a mental game try walking round the kitchen without crutches as you can use the counters to help gain confidence. Good luck you will get there!

Question - are you obligated to use the crutch at this stage if you are allowed to fully weight bear ? When I get my boot I wanna ditch the crutches sooo bad

I’m 9 weeks out and im walking on both my shoes at 8 weeks legit. Just do it. It’s mostly mental that u need to get past. I was scared at first but when I talked with family about how they did it. They said just pretend like u don’t have the crutches an you have to do it with out take it slow so it doesn’t mess up but u can do it.. I went down a set of stairs moving a couch when I broke mine. You gotta face the fear that broke yours and don’t worry if u hear some cracking an popping it’s ur body readjusting . N yes I’m doing physio to strengthen my ankle back up. U got this
