I don’t know who’s giving you this information about 130 grand but we’re well over this year. I’m going to be well over 200,000 a year so whoever this is got your information all wrong. I’ll be retired soon at 200 you do the numbers and how much that is a month goodbye. See you in Bahamas.

Im a mta bus operator we make 85k a year top pay at 6 years before overtime, dsny sanitation makes 93k before overtime and 6 years of service. One time it was a hot summer day really hot. I seen dsny throwing that garbage and they was sweaty as hell also seen all that garbage juice splattered on one of them and I was behind them with good ac waiting on them 😂, the extra 8k is not worth it in my opinion.

🤔 if he started at the age of 24 he would only have to work at the age of 44. I believe they have a 20 (years) out pension and medical retirement. So you wouldn’t have to work till the age of 45 if you didn’t want to.

That’s the NYC civil service lotto. Retired NYPD 10 years out 82k a year pension. Full medical and 400 n 401 k. I’ll take it

When I was 20 I took the test with New York City for NYPD and passed. Retired in 2005 as a lieutenant first grade.

Best job for people who didn’t have any other plans in life I’m retired from dsny and it was the best thing I had..hard work but I’m good with what retirement brings

It’s doesn’t take that long.. I took the test.. was called up for the process in 6 months.. it depends how fast they need to hire.. I scored 105+5 for military.. & they called me.. did the paper work etc.. took about a 1-2 months.. then they call you in to confirm & give you a potential start date..& to tell you to report on the following Monday., but then the city had a hiring freeze that week.. this was 2008.. they called again 3 years later.. by that time I already moved on to a bigger & better things.. but honestly.. it’s a great job!
