@reiastrange: Expressions of chronic pain… I’ve had this pain for as long as I can remember, and I may have this pain for the rest of my life. Art is helping me process this wild experience, and express things I just don’t have the words for. PS - I’m not looking for advice, I’m being seen by doctors. Video Description: Text reads: “How the fuck do you explain chronic pain? Words feel useless…” A person has painted her belly into a bulging red spiral, dotted with sharp, pointed triangles. Then, it’s painted as a rotting squash, curling up under the hot sun. Her hands clench so hard the fingers pop out of place. Then she’s grabbing at her belly, now painted with lightning strikes against a deep spreading purple. She pushes her hands towards the ground, now painted like she’s burst open under the force of a hydraulic press. Now, screaming at the ceiling with a gaping, shrieking mouth painted across her abdomen.
