My friend is pretty liberal, bordering on progressive. She lost contact with two of her friends who moved and then ghosted her and all their friends down here. Not because they weren’t supportive. They absolutely were. Shared ideology and everything. No. It was because they weren’t advocating enough online. A lot of what these two were posting was borderline violent and some of it very nasty in targeting conservative voices. My friend doesn’t want any part of that. She has conservative family members and friends. However, you can’t just be supportive for these extremists. You have to be an activist, or else you’re labeled a phobe. Social Scientology. 😣
