Fr I just graduated 4 days ago and have applied to 50 jobs and got 2 interviews and another one in an hour. But this job market as a new grad is horrible ! My brother having no internships or any experience once he graduated got hired immediately back in 2021. Sometimes I feel like a failed not being able to land something by now

I am a fraud investigator lead for a bank and college degree isn’t a job guarantee—networking and real experience matter more, and internships or part‑time work build the skills employers actually want. Grads can’t realistically jump into junior or senior roles right away; “entry‑level” often still expects workplace experience, so don’t assume the title means zero prior skills. If you can’t get experience, take a lower‑level position and transfer over later—you have to climb the ladder unless you’ve got really good connections. A degree isn’t a golden ticket; it just better equips you and may shorten how long you have to grind. Too many people overreach instead of starting where their real experience actually is.

Just start trying random things, posting on TikTok is an awesome start. This economy is TRAGIC for new grads. But once you realize you can do literally anything you want, your brain gets creative. Also you are NEVER a burden on your parents, no one asked for this to happen to an entire generation. Keep your head up and don’t take this as a reflection on you Personally. Sorry that was long but thank you for reading my mini pep talk!

I get it because i just graduated with a BS in computer information systems, and I’ve applied to 400+ new grad jobs since senior year and i haven’t got 1 offer yet. Idk what truly want to do because I don’t wanna move back home but I really can find a job in my field. I’m overly cooked!!

You need atleast 3 internships before you graduate to have a pretty ok chance of getting a job and even then you’re not guaranteed lmao.

Unemployment was 9% and I drove a truck for a few years before breaking into software development. It was hard to get in. That was 1984. After 37 years, I should retire this year from software engineering. Take anything and don’t give up.
