@dailybuzznepal: The maiden edition of the multinational joint military exercise, Exercise PRAGATI 2026, is currently underway at the Umroi Military Station in Meghalaya, India. Initiated on May 20, 2026, the two-week-long event brings together over 400 military personnel from India and 12 friendly regional nations, prominently featuring the Nepal Army alongside contingents from Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Standing for Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in the Indian Ocean Region, the exercise is designed to enhance regional peace, security cooperation, and seamless interoperability among the participating armed forces through combined tactical training and professional exchanges. The ongoing drills have entered an intensive operational phase, focusing primarily on counter-terrorism and survival tactics within challenging semi-mountainous and dense jungle terrains. A major highlight of the exercise is the formation of integrated mixed teams, where Nepal Army personnel and other international troops train together under unified missions. The rigorous curriculum includes complex field maneuvers such as rock craft, slithering operations, jungle lane shooting, bus intervention, and counter-ambush drills.
