This is insane to me. I graduated over 10 years ago, and while the place I graduated from more often than not held graduations outside at the time, they always had indoors as backup in case weather was bad. It sucked graduating inside a hot as heck gymnasium, but it was SO MUCH better than sitting outside in the potential rain. I mean, even for my college graduation, it was storming and they did it outside, but they had a massive TENT.

So that’s not how pneumonia works… pneumonia is caused by one of three things, bacteria, a virus or a fungus. It doesn’t come from just being outside in the rain. Now what can happen is the rain and the cold can make these things easier to spread or what can happen is if you already have a virus the cold weather can comprise your immune system as your body try’s to fight both the cold weather and the virus which can lead the virus to develop into pneumonia which is actually my guess as to what actually happened.

Someone from mine passed out and started seizing up from the high heat, it was during practice but I’m sure they could of came up with something for us like more shade. There was no shade at all
