That time I crashed Ted Danson on the red carpet- excuse me, green carpet. This was a magical night. My first big movie premiere. Studio movie premiere. Tom Cruise was there escorting his then wife Katie Holmes. Queen Latifah. The writer-director & Oscar winner Callie Khouri whom I am forever indebted too for giving me a crack in the big time. Funny I booked an under five role that was written out. Then two weeks later I was back in “Mad Money” with an even bigger role (Detective Brinkley) b/c the og actor double booked. He booked a reoccurring role on “The Closer.” This was the night I first felt major imposter syndrome. Even one of the producers told us in the limo ride it wasn’t a big deal. Welp, twas a big deal to me. All the sacrifices, the failures, & constant rejections seemed to fade away. Complete elation. And to see Tom Cruise laughing & watching me on the big screen will always feel dream like. But the true star of the night goes to Diane Keaton. I loved her. We all loved her. I also will never forget the co-writers coming up to me & thanking me for bringing their character to life. And I gushed over Stephen Root who also told me good job. It was a glorious night. Thank You BAM & Happiest of Birthdays! Took me 20+ years to get to this place. I will never forget it. Great memories & a reminder to you young actors out there. If you want it bad enough, work really hard, & never give up, You can walk a green carpet too. Or red. Or whatever color ya like. #movie #premiere #mad #money #dianekeaton
