Has anybody ever thought about the GST when you shop at Coles or Woolies where you do self check out. It stands for goods and SERVICES so if you self check out you are not getting a service so you should only pay 5% on your goods. Eh mmmm

We pay taxes here so we can enjoy a great way of life. Universal healthcare, public schools, free tafe and a welfare system for our most vulnerable. We really are the lucky country.

the issue is they dont tax the wealthy and alot of multinational companies pay little to no tax while introducing new taxes for rest of the people

The number of taxes is not an accurate indication of effective tax burden. You can be taxed a smaller rate across a broad range of income and purchases and have a lower effective burden than a person being taxed once at a higher rate
