UK reggae ambassador Lloyd Brown, over the past five decades Lloyd has risen to the very pinnacle of his profession. With a string of hit singles and critically acclaimed albums to his credit, he is rightly hailed as one of Britain’s finest reggae vocalist/songwriters and producers. During his early career Lloyd also performed in the stage production Black Heroes In The Hall Of Fame, portraying legendary figures including Otis Redding, Marcus Garvey, Haile Selassie and Nelson Mandela. After the stage production ended, he entered the studio and recorded Sharing The Night Together, originally recorded by Dr Hook. Lloyd’s reggae cover version in the 80s reached number one in the Black Echoes chart, followed by the classic Love U Down. This new extended remix comes from his album LB@40 The Definitive Edition Vol 1, a quality fusion of both new and past recordings blended beautifully with elements of jazz and reggae. Lloyd’s rhythms have always been exceptionally tight, reminding many of the classic Barrett Brothers sound from the 70s Wailers era.
