Thirty-one years ago today, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office lost Sergeant Timothy Mossbrucker — a respected deputy, leader, friend, and public servant who dedicated 17 years of his life to serving his community with courage and honor. On this day in 1995, Sgt. Mossbrucker was responding to a shooting scene at a supermarket in South Jeffco when he was tragically shot and killed before he could even exit his patrol car. Authorities later apprehended the suspect, who later died by suicide while in custody.
