Makes: 4–6 sandwiches Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 25 mins Ingredients * 450 g ground beef * 1 small onion, diced * 1 small green pepper, diced * 2 garlic cloves, minced * 240 ml tomato sauce/passata * 2 tbsp ketchup * 1 tbsp tomato paste * 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce * 1 tbsp brown sugar * 1 tsp yellow mustard * Salt and black pepper * Pinch chili flakes or smoked paprika (optional) To Serve: Toasted hamburger buns, pickles, cheese, or coleslaw. Method 1. Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat for 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed. 2. Add onion and pepper; cook until softened. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds. 3. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and mustard. Mix well. 4. Simmer on low for 10–15 minutes until thickened. Season to taste. 5. Spoon onto toasted buns and serve.
