I first met her in Class 5, and from that day, she unknowingly became my favorite person. We started as classmates who teased each other, but over the years, our friendship slowly turned into love. By the time we reached Class 8, we confessed our feelings and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. We studied together, shared our dreams, celebrated birthdays, and promised that no matter what happened, we’d always stay together. She was there during my happiest moments and my darkest days, and I truly believed she was my forever. Every school memory had her smile in it. We graduated to higher grades together, encouraging each other to never give up. I worked hard believing that one day I’d build the life we dreamed about. But as Grade 12 came to an end, everything started to change. She became distant, our conversations became shorter, and her “I love you” slowly disappeared. One day, she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said she couldn’t continue anymore. She walked away while I stood there, unable to say a single word. The girl I had loved for eight years became a stranger in just a few minutes. Graduation felt empty because the person I wanted to celebrate with was no longer beside me. Even today, I smile in front of people, but a part of my heart is still waiting in those old school hallways. They say first love teaches the biggest lesson, and mine taught me that sometimes you can love someone with all your heart and still lose them. Since then, I’ve learned to live with the memories, because some love stories don’t end with foreve they end with silence.
