Sea salt spray when your hair is wet. Blow dry your hair with a diffuser and scrunch your hair as you blow dry. When you get to the front to the fluffing motion or whatever and blow dry the hair up. Then once fully dry use the clay and scrunch it in

Yo for you hair, maybe try my routine. Idk if it'll work as well since your hair is thicker but give it a shot. Wet your hair completely ( it works better if you havent shampood in like 1-2 days and maybe even some product buildup in your hair ), then dry it until its damp while scrunching with a towel. Dont flick it up and to the front, just scrunch so waves can form. The put wax/clay on your hands until they are completely covered so a pretty good amount and scrunch that in the same way without flicking it around or going through it. In the end blow dry it with a diffuser, use the lowest speed and circular motions while holding in place a few seconds. Thats the best way Im able to style my 1A hair. In the end i put some hairspray for hold but since ur hair seems thicker it might not be necessary

Do a middle part so you have to slick back hair then grab a comb then split hair down middle then apple sea salt spray then scrunch then apply clay when dry
