South Africa's xenophobia crisis is no longer affecting only migrants. It is increasingly affecting South Africans themselves. Across Africa, some fans are calling for boycotts of South African artists, while concerns are growing that the country's image is taking a hit. So why does that matter? South African musicians, especially Amapiano stars, spend much of the year touring countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, some of the same countries where anger over xenophobic tensions has been strongest. If those audiences turn away, artists could lose major sources of income. And music may be just the beginning. Critics warn that a damaged reputation can also affect tourism, business, and South Africa's influence across the continent. The debate is no longer just about the impact on migrants. It is about the growing cost of xenophobia for South Africa itself. #dwafricasocialmedia #southafrica #pretoria #ghanatiktok🇬🇭 #zimbabwetiktok🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
