Not milk. Not cream. Not mozzarella. Vegetable oil and starch shaped and coloured to pass as cheese. The whitening agent: titanium dioxide — a compound also used in paint, plastic, and sunscreen, banned from all food in the EU since 2022 after the European Food Safety Authority concluded it can damage human DNA. Real mozzarella needs four ingredients: milk, salt, rennet, and culture. Totino's "mozzarella" needs water, oil, starch, casein, sodium citrate, sodium phosphate, lactic acid, artificial colour, and a DNA-damaging whitening agent banned across 27 European countries. A single serving delivers 370 calories, 820mg of sodium, and zero real cheese. The packaging shows melted, stretchy, golden cheese. The ingredient list says imitation. The word "imitation" is there — in small print, buried behind the marketing. Most people never flip the box. You're paying for pizza rolls filled with vegetable oil dyed white with a paint chemical and sold as cheese. Totino's knows it's not cheese. The label proves it. They just hope you won't read it.
