EVs should be required by law to show battery health and cycles. Miles don't tell the full story, the previous owner could've idled the car and blast AC for hours a day.

Old information here that’s quickly becoming a fallacy. The new batteries don’t even use lithium and depending on the car there’s some that you can just replace individual modules

My 2014 200k miles EV is on 88% battery health. WTF are you on about? Most batteries life is 12-15 years, and that increasing every year.

I live in western Australia and that gets warmer than Florida and have driven EVs for six years. if the battery is water cooled (which most are) the heat effect is minimal. and if they are LFP batteries (not NMC) range drop is non existent. my five year old EV with NMC battery had lost less than 5 miles. just don't buy an old leaf!

LFP batteries handle anything you can throw at them. I live in Queensland Australia where 40c isn’t unusual. 200,000km in my last ev the battery was still at 94%

I usually explain it by comparing it to a mobile phone.. Like.. "if you've EVER had an old mobile phone, have you noticed how the battery life hardly even keep a charge all day, and sometimes you have to charge it several times a day? Yeah? SO WHY THE F WOULD YOU THINK IT WAS DIFFERENT ON AN ELECTRIC CAR?? This is one of the reasons people in the EU are fighting to allow people to change phone batteries, because they want the choice to keep using technology that has no faults beyond a bad battery.. Hell you can change the battery in a car, so why shouldn't you be able to change it in a phone? "

and the big thing, charge rate and keeping it between 25% and 80% and not topping up a few % each day. its the basics when it comes to battery health. phones, cars, laptops etc

shouldn't ev have 8 years battery warranty, if the battery capacity less than 70% the car company will replace it for free. I dont know about us ev maker but china ev maker have that option.

what? I don't understand about people not realizing that Eevee batteries are going to lose charge after while is. these are the same people that have had them smartphones for years and often complained that they're smartphone doesn't keep a charge the way it used to
