@dreamcorevideo: It all started on May 12, 2019, on the 4chan forum. An anonymous user posted a photo of a yellow office hallway and asked for "disturbing images." The next day, another user wrote the famous description that started it all . The original text stated: "If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in" . For a long time, the source of the yellow photograph was unknown. In 2024, the online community discovered it was taken in 2002 during renovations of a HobbyTown store in Oshkosh, Wisconsin . The photo was taken with a Sony Cyber-shot camera and uploaded to a renovation blog on March 2, 2003, under the filename "Dsc00161.jpg." That space is now a radio-controlled car racetrack . Liminality" comes from the Latin limen — "threshold." This concept from architecture and psychology refers to transitional spaces — corridors, airports, underground passages. People don't linger there, so when empty, they evoke a "strange nostalgia" . The aesthetic of liminal spaces went viral thanks to the Backrooms. The hashtag has amassed nearly 100 million views on TikTok .#CapCut #backrooms #monster #dreamcore #creatorsearchinsights
