you could at least tell him and leave him decide if he want to pay or pay half or pay nothing there are still some good clients out there

You’ll gain many more customers doing what you’ve done, fair play.

maybe it was the fact you jammed a thick blade into the side of it instead of a small thin razer like youre supposed to. don't blame the customer for your mistakes

You did right thing. If you saw the crack before and told them there’s a chance of the screen going then it would be ok to charge for screen

When we do repairs if the screen is already broken we tell the customer it’s at there own risk we also state this when placing a repair

No, you can't charge for the screen. Because the owner only wanted to replace battery.

How do I get in contact with you? I’ve got an iPad Pro 13 inch and it doesn’t charge anymore. I think it needs a new battery. What is the price?

As a repair shop, if the customers device is cracked we give a disclaimer that there is a chance the display can get damaged more and theres higher risk, and if it was to then we are not liable

I think you handled it really well. You took full responsibility, which was great, but you could’ve also given them the option to contribute to the screen cost if they wanted. That way, it would be a gesture of goodwill, but still optional for them.

Assuming there’s no disclaimers that customers must tell you about all damage etc before you start work, then you did the right thing

Need to check screen with a light. If there is any crack. Then you need to warn customer there is a risk it will break and you won't be responsible
