This is actually true. I experienced it myself. Got bumped out of our flight, family of 6 going to Florida. I paid $ 1,250 for our tickets, got compensated for $5K for a 4 hour delay.

Less than 1 hr you get nothing. 1-2 hrs you get 200% of fare up to a max of $775 and you are only entitled to 400% up to a max of $1550 only if the delay is over 2 hrs

I was there an hour early and this guy was 10 mins late so they sold my seat to him and the lady told me ohhh it looks like you can't get a refund so I had to wait 6 hours for my next flight when I was an hour earlier to my flight
