Also Afro-Latino (Dad’s Black Panamanian 🇵🇦, Mom’s Mexican 🇲🇽), unfortunately my parents used Spanish like a secret language from the kids so we never learned how to speak it but we very much learned to understand it. I never paid it any mind growing up, but I definitely experienced a ton of microaggressions from other Hispanic/Latinos in my life. The racism/colorism was real then and still is.
