@mamafinally: A little reminder that this isn’t about judgment. I’ve been the mom who relied on the iPad too babe. During burnout, while working from home, through survival-mode seasons, sick days, endless winter afternoons… all of it. Over time, I realized I didn’t actually want more screen time for our home, I just needed more support, more rhythm, and easier alternatives already built into our days. A few things that helped us slowly break the habit: • rotating a few toys instead of keeping everything out at once • keeping simple activities prepped ahead of time (water play, stickers, coloring bins, kinetic sand, audiobooks) • involving her in everyday life instead of trying to entertain her 24/7 like baking or prepping dinners • spending more time outside, even for 20 minutes • letting boredom happen instead of rushing to fill it • lowering my expectations for productivity at home Some seasons are still harder than others. Survival mode happens. Sick kids happen. Overstimulated moms happen. Screens aren’t the enemy and using them doesn’t make you a bad parent. This has just been a gentle shift toward slower, calmer days that feel better for us 🤍 #slowmotherhood #intentionalparenting #screenfreekids #simplechildhood #motherhoodunfiltered
