The tip girl is to not push the newbie at all onto Malik. Don’t tell him to engage or look or even ask what he thinks about the baby. Leave Malik to be. The only time you say something is if Malik wants something and you’re feeding or engaging with baby. Then say to Malik, you are feeding baby at the moment/changing nappy/burbing etc but once you’re done with that you absolutely will do whatever it was that Malik was wanting your attention for...I watched how my coffee group mummas behaved when they had their second ones (before my second one) and realised what they were doing and why the no 1’s were behaving adversely or getting jealous. So, I didn’t above and my first born adapted by himself within the month and became so protective and invested in the little on it was overkill lol. 16 years after my second born and my children have never squabbled, let alone fought. They were absolutely besties when little and are still tight. My eldest was never nasty or jealous and I’m positive it was because I left the firstborn to adjust in his time and it absolutely is always the firstborn/eldest who sets the relationship between siblings.
