Depends on your goals. 10 mins of vigorous activity raises cortisol. Running around like a chicken with your head cut off squatting, burpees, and kettle bells is not better. Frequent walking is the key to sustainable health.

This is very misleading. When you are talking about cardiovascular/respiratory health, yes, the 10 mins is more effective than 10k steps. However, for weight management and maintaining a healthy metabolism, the 10k steps is more effective.

10k steps should not be “traded in”. That should be the daily basic. Adding in lifting and sprint training makes for amazing health.

I really Despise these condensed sound bytes because they leave out the reality that what's most important is consistency. So if you can do 10000 low intensity steps throughout the day, and that works for you, then you should do it. I'll tell you that it turned my life around and got me to where I could do more. at 230 pounds, moderate or high intensity probably would have given me a heart attack given.I'm only 5'2" so when you listen to the sound bites, please take them with a grain of salt.Because right now , today I weigh a 139 because of those 10k steps
