The Trial of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) Prophet Ibrahim had prayed for many years to be blessed with a child, and was granted a son, Ismail (peace be upon him) , in his old age. Years later, Allah tested Ibrahim's ultimate submission by asking him to sacrifice his most beloved possession-his son. Because of their complete trust and obedience to God, Ibrahim and Ismail prepared to carry out the act. Recognizing their absolute faith, Allah substituted a ram for Ismail just as Ibrahim went to make the sacrifice.
