The reason is actually money. WWE used to have an entire department in their production studio that would spend hours, sifting through footage, annotating, animating logos and texts, rendering effects, and editing these Trons. And they would have to update them every few weeks with new clips to remove wrestlers who were released, or add in new clips, update the ID shots with their new gear or haircut. They were spending tens of millions on this, and it was something that, while incredibly cool for those who paid attention, only a small portion of the audience actually paid attention to. So in 2012, they started downsizing that department a lot, and once the WWE Network started, those editors were moved there because that content was more important to the company.
