@k9kismet: Capt. Howie 😍 Amonth ago, 13-year-old Howie was at @lbanimalcare, sitting alone in a kennel. The kind of dog many adopters walk past because they assume his story is already nearing the end. But the truth is… Howie still had so much life left to live. ❤️ And now? He’s making up for lost time, cruising around the Long Beach harbor on a Duffy boat like the retired king he was always meant to be. 👑⚓️🐾 The same senior dog who once slept on a kennel floor is now feeling the ocean breeze in his fur, soaking up sunsets, riding beside people who adore him, and living the kind of soft, beautiful life every old dog deserves. All because somebody said yes to fostering. That one yes changed everything. Watching Howie now, it’s hard not to think about how many senior dogs are still sitting in shelters waiting for someone to see them. Waiting for someone to realize they are not “too old.” Not broken. Just deserving of comfort, safety, adventure, and love. Because dogs like Howie don’t stop deserving beautiful moments just because they get older. If anything… we’d argue they deserve them more than anyone. And watching this boy go from simply surviving to truly living again? Yeah.
