Dollar cost averaging means you buy at a regulated schedule ex. on the 1st of month, week or quarter. That is different from buying the dip bc dips are not scheduled.

buying more on dips is not dollar-cost averaging

Why not just buy leaps for asymmetric upside (higher than 3x if u want).

How could it not erode over time? Genuinely curious

Genuinely curious, if you bought six years ago with 50K does that mean you bought at the lowest point when Covid hit? It’s at all-time high right now, so buying in right now has me a bit nervous.

Flat markets kills your leveraged position. But we’re not in a flat market, are we? 🤑🤑🤑

If you truely believe in the S&P500 to perform long term and you have long time horizon, leverage S&P500 ETF makes sense, doesn’t it?

For you folks, the vast majority, who check your accounts 25x/day, don’t buy leveraged ETF’s.

this doesn’t make sense. you’re explaining leveraged etfs like regular securities that just go down. the daily reset means that the math is different than just DCAing a volatile stock

Maybe financial advisers aren't lying but adapting the advice to the person in front of them, just a thought, from someone actually qualified and licensed to give financial advice.

when the markets are up 8% after a year of volatility, UPRO will be up 15 to 20% after the 'decay' .. which one will you pick?

I’m from Russia and I don’t have an ability to invest to American markets. Recently I’ve opened to myself cyryptomarkets. There I can open a long position on sp500 or on nasdaq with any leverage. But it’s not the same leverage as in upro. It isn’t daily resetting so I think it’s even better to invest on cryptomarkets

Wait until market drops 20% to UPRO up. In the meantime be happy making SP500 returns.
