Everyone in the comments saying “it’s not the kids, it’s the parents not parenting” are missing the point. A lot of people saying that clearly don’t understand what parenting actually looks like in real life. Kids throw fits, don’t listen, test boundaries, get overstimulated, cry in public, and have bad moments that’s literally part of being a child. Seeing a parent struggle with their kid for 10 minutes in a store or restaurant does not mean they “aren’t parenting.” You are seeing a tiny moment of someone’s day, not what happens 24/7 behind closed doors. Parenting isn’t about having perfectly behaved children at all times in public. It’s about consistently teaching, correcting, and raising them over time. Some of y’all expect children to act like fully emotionally regulated adults, and that’s just not realistic.

My child completely loses it in nearly every store we go into. I am doing my best, but I have to get things in stores, and my child is just extremely strong willed 😭
