@ellingson.tv: This is a 1970 General Electric black and white television. If you’ve been watching my reels recently, you’ve probably seen this TV in action. It’s got a strong picture, a nice blue tone, and I love the slim profile. It was a generous donation to my collection from @ransom_mitchell . I love it and I hope you love it too. Stay tuned for more TV show-and-tell. #collection #television #vintage
As a child of the 70s, this would have been more of a bedroom TV. Most suburban homes had a console color TV, and teens would have a 12 to 19 inch B&W in their room or gameroom. And we had to use those rabbit ears, cable tv was a late 70s thing but luckily you could use a little adapter to make cable connect to the antenna scews.

That’s in great shape! I remember black and white TV cabinets/tubes were always shallower than color (I don’t know why).

I had one of these in my room growing up in the 90s. The way the picture collapses into a dot definitely brings back some memories

I wish they would make some of the newer HD TVs look like vintage TVs. I'm serious!!!

My parents either had this one or another very similar model and I couldn’t hide my excitement when it finally died in the 80’s and we got our first color television. I was in love with everything about that new TV including the chocolate brown fake wood grain. 😂😂😂

I remember this style very well, and the tv 📺 stand, saw this style in the waiting room at the Dr office appointment when I was a kid, reminds me of Lost in Space & Star Trek👍🏻🙂

Miss the days that you could actually get your tv worked on if it tore up. Now it seems like they are all disposable!

My family had that exact TV in 1970😮📺…I’d go with my dad to check the tubes at Allied Radio Shack. It was our only TV till the 80’s when I started working as a Heathkit service technician & brought home our first color TV😅

I had one someone thru out a car window cause it was broke - I took it to school in my radio and tv repair class - cost me 75 cents for a new transistor - this was 1978 - it hung from the ceiling over my bed for couple years! Great memories
