I just hired two project managers. Neither had a PMP, but what they DID have was actual project management experience that was evident in the interview. And for the record, it took me longer than a month to get my PMP.

I've had my PMP since 2012 & CSM since 2020. DO NOT let your continuing education lapse. You do not want to take that test again. Do your PDUs.

From someone who held a PMP for the last 5ish years and didn’t renew it this year - the market is too competitive. Your PMP will not differentiate you at all.
