The way I like to describe it to people is that facism is like socialism but where socialism takes the money it gains from its increased taxes (compared to capitalism) and gives it back to the impoverished and less privileged facism gives it to the nation and public works to make the nation as a whole a better place. It is in theory not a horrible idea (like many political theories) but in historical context all the nations who attempted it put all the money into creating a war machine and expanding their influence which isn’t exactly looked back upon fondly.
