There were some curious rumors and theories about the great wall that I had heard that made me wonder about the truth of it. Some have said it was not built by the Han to keep invaders out, but that it was built to keep people in/out from the opposing side. One of the reasons claimed iirc, was that the towers from which archers could point their arrows was facing toward China and not away. Are you familiar with these theories and their basis? Are there any truths to their claims?
