i knew addiction runs in my family but i was determined to try and now im an addict. thing is, i have zero family support and your kiddo has that. im an aba therapist, if it’s helpful for you and your family the tools can be useful at home without being in therapy. you’re an amazing mom and i thank you for sharing what you feel comfortable sharing! we love you! 🫂🩵

as someone who grew up with a sober mom but knew that i had an addictive personality bc of my father. my mom was extremely understanding and told me the same thing. ur gonna do it if u want to, but at the end of the day it doesn't hurt to educate. my mother is the reason i wake up everyday and chose not to put myself is bad situation. she showed me that she could go through life without it even when u want it most. ur doing perfect, and he will always come to u if he need help.

I’ve been upfront and honest with my kids about addiction and how it runs on both sides of our family. They’ve seen me at my worst and I remind them why I have to be sober.

Exactly. I told my daughter that I can’t always be there to make decisions for her. I said I won’t tell her not to do things. Just that I hope she makes good decisions for herself.
