The worst missed opportunity was at the end. Miranda looks at Andy and asks ‘is there anything else?’ As they are finally sort of ‘equals’. And Andy says no. WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE SAID ‘that’s all’. THE iconic line from the first movie that wasn’t said ONCE all the sequal! I almost shouted at the theater

The biggest problem I have with it is that this movie is plotless….

the whole movie would make more sense if it was a few years after the first one not 20 years

Noooooo Emily's betrayal made PERFECT sense. Emily literally said MIRANDA KICKED HER OUT. That's the DEEPEST betrayal Emily could have felt 😳 and betrayal was a major theme in both movies. She mirrored Miranda exactly in the first movie (Miranda throwing Nigel under the bus to stay at the top) but Emily can't pull it off. "Truth is, no one can do what I do." -Miranda Priestly. Not only that but then ALL the characters finally learn their lesson, INCLUDING Miranda re: end with Nigel's speech. Again, the betrayal plot was perfect and finally yielded understanding. Miranda saw what she did to Nigel. Wouldn't have happened without Emily's betrayal.

Also the point of working for Miranda or with Miranda’s recommendation (What Emily’s character literally states) is she could work at any fashion company she wants. That’s the point of putting up with her.

I am 100% positive that 90% of scripts have a rough draft written by ChatGPT and then sent to a “writer” to edit and clean it up. I know for a fact that Netflix does this.

There was no need for a sequel; they weren’t friends or longtime colleagues 🤷🏻‍♀️

Besides this, to me the oddest part was way at the end when Emily said that once her boyfriend bought the company SHE would be the first one on the cover.. she loved Runway and knew she wasn’t a model. She never showed any interest in being a cover girl and now suddenly she wants to take a hard turn and put the nee editor in chief on the cover of the magazine.. felt so inconsistent.

The original movie was a look behind the curtain. The sequel is a mirage made by the people behind the curtain.

It’s about the implied prestige of working for the preeminent global magazine that rules fashion, as opposed to working in retail.

I really wanted to love this film but it was terrible. They completely changed Miranda’s personality too. Wish I’d not watched it tbh

I disagree, her motivation wasn’t to get a better job. Because if she had wanted that, she could have left Runway after she worked there for a year (because according to her that’s what you need to do to get a great job). She stayed because she wanted to prove herself that she can make it there. So when she got kicked out, that was a betrayal of all the work she had done. Her rising in another company makes sense as she was an incredibly hard and diligent worker but I can expect that to make her even more upset that this wasn’t recognized before at Runway. Her wanting to take over Runway is revenge and proving to herself that she did make it. And if that comes with taking down Miranda then that’s the cherry on top.

This movie should be about Andy getting Miranda's job after she was fired and canceled for being toxic, and trying not to become like her. It has to be about how not to repeat past mistakes.

Also like the movie tries to be high and mighty about AI and then all the sponsorship ads are for AI
