The Hebrew word Chatat also means guilt offering. He who knew no sin became a guilt offering.. that word Chatat appears twice in that scripture. I am loving your teachings btw

You lost me when you started quoting Paul. He misses the whole point and set up the initial confusion. Jesus said the purpose of the Cross clearly. “The son of man must be lifted up as Moses raised the serpent in the desert.” If you can ignore everything else taught by everyone else, and meditate deeply on that statement, an entirely different interpretation of the Cross emerges.

What was God doing in Jesus on the cross? It’s not one thing. It’s a divine mystery that you can clearly see the New testament writers trying to work out in their time and worldview. I love all your videos but especially appreciate this one. I didn’t know there were any opposing atonement theories until a couple of years ago and found the arguments to be very confusing that people held to “one or the other”. I always felt it was an incomplete reading of the cross. Thank you for this video

We however get the benefits of this work on the cross that you so aptly explained by believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths in faith whereupon we receive the gift of the Spirit who dwells in us making us live in the righteousness of Christ. Therefore, even after the work on the cross, Christ remains at work keeping us in righteousness by His Spirit.

Great video! I've never understood why people think only one atonement theory can be true, as if God isn't infinitely wise and able to do many things in one action. What was accomplished at the cross is far, far bigger than we often recognize.

Never realized there were so many sides of the cross! Been bouncing back and forth between scripture throughout this video. It’s been there all along! Why do you suppose that this isn’t taught in its entirety in church? It could be that I wasn’t understanding or aware of the entire story. I have learned so much over the past few weeks! I look forward to learning more.
