There used to be one in my house. When my children were younger, I used to hear them calling for me when they were asleep. Either during the day when they were taking a nap, or when they had gone to bed for the night. It was always exactly their voice and their individual cadences that they always used to call me. My son's call sounds like Maahhmeee and my daughter's sounds like a quick Mommy. Every time I would walk to their bedrooms they would be asleep (not pretending, I know when they're asleep and they've never pretended in their lives). One night I was in the bedroom reading and I heard/felt my husband doing his bedtime routine next to the bed. When I looked up he wasn't there. He was in the living room and never came to the bedroom. I haven't heard the mimic in a while. I sage my house every now and then and it seems to help.
