No shade but your chlorine is not high enough to be doing anything meaningful to the algae already in the pool… I think the pool store is giving you recommendations on how to keep your pool chemical levels balanced but since your pool is still having algae in it and it’s not being killed, you should have your chlorine at least at 20 ppm and retest every 6 hours until your water is crystal clear.

Quit going constantly to pool store. I always test my own pool water and usually have lots of chlorine in pool. We also run our filter 15 hours minimum

Is the pool ever eligible to be drained and resurfaced? I know you’ve said you can’t drain it due to the water table of the area that will cause it to raise up from the ground. But curious how someone would be able to complete a future major repair/resurface to the concrete.
