It’s about modesty. Modesty is highly valued in Islam on both genders. Modesty in Islam includes covering ur body parts, averting gaze, not drawing sexual attention etc

hey so please do your research before posting things like this heres an answer as a muslim non hijabi who grew up in a muslim country and was taught these things in school. Any practicing muslim woman has to wear the hijab while praying (otherwise its not accepted) and around non muslim women (since they dont understand the religon they can describe the details of your body to others) the hijab exists not just to protect from the gaze of men but from everyones gaze, lust or jealousy. 💞

The hijab is first and foremost an act of worship and obedience to Allah. Taking it off doesn’t mean she’s wearing it for men instead of Allah. She’s still following Allah’s command by wearing it in the situations He prescribed. because Allah specifically commanded the hijab to be worn in front of unrelated men. Muslims believe Allah knows what is best. One of the reasons behind this ruling is to encourage modesty between unrelated men and women, reduce sexualization, and protect a woman’s privacy and dignity. Men also have their own command from Allah to lower their gaze and guard their modesty. Muslims follow these rulings because they believe Allah knows human nature best and knows what is best for us.
