nope Nikki definitely wasn't possessed, that would imply there is some sort of entity or demon attached to the one wish willow and that's already confirmed to not be the case (the clerk that wished for his store, his friend that whished for money) I would say she was kinda under a state of hipnosis while also being aware of what she was doing and that it wasn't "her" but just because it isn't her means it has to be some other entity.

I don’t think it’s demonic possession but it definitely is something. Not just a new personality. For me the strongest evidence of this is when fake Nikki and bear are have a screaming match and she breaks down and says “I can’t be Nikki I can’t” something is admitting that it is playing a role but can’t completely fulfill that role

Most heartbreaking part is the little mood swings she has where the real Nikki fights for her own soul to get rid of the wish he put on her. Even the game scene where she tries to smash her face with a bottle it was clear she was trying to make them understand she needed help.

Another one is the sleep scene, when the entity is controlling her that’s sleeping. The real Nikki was trying to talk to him and he genuinely just didn’t give a damn and made it about himself. Like brother?! She’s getting tortured because of something you did and you make it about yourself? Nah bro. He was such a selfish prick.

The director said it wasn't a possession. I tjink it is rather a version of her directed or compelled by the wish to love Bear. I also think much of the scary stuff fake Nikki does is due to the real Nikki trying to get back into control of her body and regain her will.
