@nathanthecatlady: Back to skid row. I think it’s important for people to see just how bad things have gotten here. Also I don’t want to hear that it’s “just a small part of the city”. Any animal abuse should be taken seriously. The fact of the matter is police have been told to stand down and not enforce the laws here. I’ve heard first hand experience from multiple people that this is the case. I’ve even had an officer tell me to my face that if they arrest someone who’s homeless, that they would get into trouble and forced to return them. This is not an ok baseline for the city. Illegal breeding, spay neuter laws and animal abuse are something we should all agree are not acceptable. I will say. There are some people on skid row that are doing the best they can for their animals. I want nothing but the best for them and I want them to get all the support that they need. But that is in no way the majority. Huge shout out to @Starts With One Today for being out there helping the homeless and their pets every week. @joey.tuccio for being out there every week. Thank you @PETA for coming out with us so you can use your voice to help out a stop to this. @Chokachi and @Jesse Kove for coming out and helping to spread the word as well. This shouldn’t be a political issue. This should be a common sense issue that we can all agree needs to stop. #dogs #cats #animals skidrows
