Exactly, Jesus made it clear that we will not always prosper or get the outcome we desire in this life, not even heaven is like that. As we focus on Him, everything else is nothing compared to his love. God’s faithfulness is worth more than our greatness and all gold. 🙏

God isn't understood by everything. That's okay we don't all have to be the same.

We have to stop treating Jesus like a genie from Aladdin's lap. Nobody said being Christian will be easy. Being Christian isn't about owning books, crosses or icons it's about the faith. The love and the trust in Him.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7. I’m not saying don’t ask God for anything, but sometimes the answer will be “No” and you gotta pray for peace and understanding.

I dont like labeling all protestants that way bc i have never been taught the prosperity gospel. I dont like the constant catholic vs orthodox vs protestant and so on. I think the thing matters is Jesus’ sacrifice and will we die to ourselves and follow him

Sir, I am going to disagree with you. I have never felt my relationship was transactional. But it's ok to put the hurt and pain on God during the trials. It's like having a best friend and just going to them to discuss things. Looking back, I know why God allowed me to go through the things I have. I think it's wrong of you to put this divide in the body of Christ.

Very insightful! I once heard a homily about this transactional way of viewing God. The priest mentioned the prodigal son's older brother in this sense, and how he's dutiful rule-following but still needs some maturing in his faith, to stop seeing the Father in such a way.

This is sooooooooo scary please don’t say that! It’s simply not true. I know that that is a thing with American churches but it is very uncommon where I live. Of course it is a pandemic/issue where some pastors push the narrative or idea of prosperity gospel. Please with all love just because you are now catholic does not mean you should demonise another denominations. How have you arrived at blaming the whole Protestant church for a group of Christian’s misunderstanding and developing an overly transactional relationship with Christ. We are humans

From the 15 second videos these people are posting, you make so many different assumptions based on nothing. The trend is showing off their bibles, sure, but you have no idea what else there journey with God has been. You’re saying “well all they did was read the Bible probably so of course God didn’t reach out to them.” You have no idea what they are praying for, so yku assume they are praying to attain anything material or physical. Maybe they were praying for peace, for God’s grace, for His mercy, and they didn’t get that. Just like you do, they have the right to share their journey in finding faith. But, because their path isn’t identical to yours or because you can’t fathom anyone struggling in their journey, you judge them. It’s truly a shame how social media has turned faith into a competition of who believes more or who has more faith. You should be ashamed of yourself.
