one of the moments i can’t shake is the second time in the script where they have sex (SA) after Ian’s party. After manipulating Bear into thinking she’s normal again she gets extremely hyper-sexualized taking off her clothes and telling Bear to rail her and even references the Hansel and Gretel poem and he IGNORES it and yet again SA’s her. And all that’s implied is hearing moaning getting louder (which we know is not real from Nikki) SO chilling.

omg side note: when bear is dropping her off at her house and she’s talking about the book she’s writing and she says “it’s not a romance it’s a love story” and bears says “ aren’t those the same thing?” showing how he views things and how the relationship is one-sided

I teach a high school film class and this gave me a good idea to have kids read scripts, then watch the films. Might be interested and good analysis to see how those change.

I was bothered by a hospital not putting an involuntary hold on her bc it didn’t seem realistic. If they included the nurse mentioning they need her informed consent, then I think it could suspend disbelief a bit more due to the ties to the theme of the movie

Wish Nikki is so self aware. How many times does the movie need to explicitly tell you that real Nikki was awake and that wish Nikki knew she wasn’t the real one. SHE SAYS “I can’t be her” LIKE BRO

YES! I just was explaining this to a friend. That Wish nikki is aware of what she is and learning and adapting into her instincts which is bears wish. Like a newborn with nikkis mind just twisted to bears wish, which is why at first she confuses bears cat as her own, as she’s learning bear and how to follow her instincts to “love” him. Which in moments when she starts feeling him slipping away she gets more desperate and lashes out with weird behavior, and by the end she pretty much just admits that she knows she’s his wish with certain lines and also her ability to use the willow wish

I like the fact that they didn’t include that monologue about Nikki not believing in romance. I think if they would’ve included that it would’ve been very easy for the audience to write bear off as idiotic to think that she would snap into this love spell with him and it not being the doing of the one wish Willow. To think that she says she doesn’t believe in romance and then five minutes later she’s banging on his car window door, asking if she can go home with him is a little too strong of a dichotomy. I like the fact that it takes a little while for bear to put the pieces together and realize that this is the workings of the one wish Willow.
