True aeration pulls the soil plug out of the ground creating little fox holes I call them to provide an open space for air, fertilizer, seed to go into. The roots will expand into this area. Pushing the soil down & out as this tool does creates sidewall compaction. Your tires are wet from dew or soil moisture which is good for coring but probably not this method. Soil test every 3 yrs & annually apply 150 units of nitrogen/acre is best for cool season grasses. I don’t know what zone you’re in. Good luck sir.
