I have friends who a part of five siblings, their mom died of cancer when they were young. Dad stepped up and filled both roles, they always give him Mother's Day credit, like, of course.

There isn't anything wrong with telling a father happy mother's day especially if he's a single dad or a widow husband who has kids and doing both roles the same goes to a mum on Father's day I do this to my mum because she's a single mum and she does both roles.
