Gripping a sharpened spoon, he quietly approached the newcomer’s bunk. “Listen, smart guy,” he hissed, pressing the weapon against the young man’s throat. “I don’t care what the boss saw in that ring. Tell me who you really are.” The newcomer slowly sat up, pushed the weapon aside with a finger, and replied in a calm voice: “This ring belonged to Cross — the man who founded this prison. Fifteen years ago, he was betrayed and left to rot in solitary confinement. I came here to collect the debt from the one who betrayed him.
