i love this take. I saw it as , because she “loves him” so much she couldn’t bare to miss the moment he walked in. She had so much love for him that she was willing to wait all day and loose control of herself so she didn’t miss the first moment he came back. After reading your theory i feel like you’re probably more right. i’ll have to watch it again to pick up on all these things more

I felt like when bear wasn’t there the entity just shut down and waited for him to come back.. like without him around Nikki just paused, like if you’d pause a game. Without him she doesn’t have a purpose

I think it's because of the promise they made before bear left, Nikki saying she wouldn't act weird while he left but since she's not the real Nikki everything she does it "weird" weird too him being acting unlike Nikki so she just choose to not to move

I see it more as an extension of the wish. he wish she loved him more than *anyone else* and that includes herself, hence why she only ever seems to take any amount of care for herself when bear is clearly disgusted by her. i feel like its also shown in how she doesnt eat a single thing post-wish

No it’s not exactly that but remember when he said he wished Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world? Well the reason why she soiled herself was that Nikki can’t (a.k.a take care of self) physically and mentally because all of those are solely for Bear alone. In simple terms, she needs to love Bear more than herself.

What my mate said he thought it was is that nikki was physically incapable of functioning without being around bear due to the wish, that her obsession for him at that point was so powerful that when he leaves her body essentially shuts down much like how after death your body releases all its excrement

I think also that since everytime she caught her reflection real nikky would be snapped back to reality, which was why she would go to the corner, cover her face, break the mirror in the bathroom, and just avoid the bathroom so the fake nikky could stay in control. Also it’s proven that nikky wouldn’t eat unless it was with bear, she’d basically just “shut off” when he’d be gone

it’s because of the mirror. when she sees her reflection she wakes up for a moment. she sees herself in the car mirror, in the beer bottle at the party (why she hits herself), avoids the bedroom mirror, hides her face behind the flowers. and real nikki keeps trying to kill both nikki’s. the only time it’s the real nikki is when she sees her reflection or when she’s sleeping.
