for all the people saying "just use a tazer" 1. dogs are agile and fast, making them hard to hit with a 1 shot weapon. 2. suppose he does manage to hit the dog, just like humans. there is a chance the tazer will have no effect and may only enrage the dog further, leaving the officer with little to no time to pull out his gun for lethal force. when faced with aggressive dogs in attack mode, especially one that is not receptive to intimidation AT ALL, your best bet is to use lethal force immediately. The second you're bit by a dog in attack mode, the fight is going to get a lot harder to win. I love dogs but sometimes due to neglect, abuse, or improper training, some dogs are too far gone to not be a hazard to the public. Those dogs would've been put down eventually no matter what, it's just a matter of whether it was gonna happen before or after those dogs 💀 somebody.
