As an HVAC tech the reason they blow towards the windows is to create an conditioned envelope to block energy loss from the windows and evenly heat/cool the entire space. These devices undermine your HVAC system.

just wash out the unit. check all your filters. make sure it has freon or whatever yours uses to cool. buy this only changes the direction. cold air falls. hot air rises. have a nice day

I only have one of these in my house that i bought 5 years ago because the ait was blowing under the bed so the return air was grabbing it and the rooms temperature was what ever it was outside. So this is the only way the master bedroom has temperature control. Got it on amazon for $4

These are a bad idea. I’ve been doing HVAC work for 50 years and this is the last thing you wanna do as you want the cold air to blanket the outside walls in the summer and you want the heat to blanket the outside walls in the winter, if you don’t, you’re allowing the heat in the cold right through those walls.
